Description
The CEAC HC-SR501 PIR Motion Detection Module is a passive infrared sensor designed to detect movement within its field of view. When the sensor detects a change in infrared energy, its onboard circuit generates a digital output signal that can be read by a compatible microcontroller or control circuit.
The module features a white Fresnel lens, a printed circuit board, and adjustable controls for detection sensitivity and output delay. Many HC-SR501 versions also support selectable repeatable and non-repeatable trigger modes, allowing users to configure how the output responds to continued motion.

Installation and Compatibility
Connect the module’s power, ground, and output pins according to the board labels. Check the controller’s logic-voltage requirements before connecting the output to a microcontroller input. Allow the sensor to stabilize after powering it on, and adjust the sensitivity and delay controls to suit the installation.
This module detects motion; it does not identify a person or measure precise distance. Detection performance depends on installation, ambient conditions, and movement across the sensor’s field of view.
