Description
The MEAN WELL DRDN40-24 is a high-reliability 24V DC power redundancy module designed to improve system availability in industrial power applications. It is part of the MEAN WELL DRDN40 series and supports both 1+1 and N+1 redundancy configurations, allowing multiple power supplies to work together while providing enhanced protection against individual power supply failures.
The DRDN40-24 features two DC input channels and one output channel. It accepts a 24V DC input within a 19–29V DC operating range and supports up to 40A continuous output current. Each input can support up to 40A continuously, while the module is designed for high-current industrial power distribution.
Using MOSFET-based redundancy technology, the module achieves approximately 98% typical efficiency while keeping the maximum input-to-output voltage drop to approximately 0.3V. This helps reduce heat generation and maintain efficient power delivery within control cabinets.
The unit includes two-channel DC OK monitoring and alarm relay contacts, along with LED status indication, allowing the condition of the power inputs to be monitored by a control system. Overload and short-circuit protection further support dependable operation.
Its slim 55 mm DIN rail-mount enclosure is designed for efficient installation in industrial control cabinets. The DRDN40-24 supports TS-35 DIN rail mounting and operates over a wide -40°C to +80°C temperature range, with derating at elevated temperatures.
