Description
The Pepperl+Fuchs KFD2-STC5-Ex1.20 is a SMART transmitter power supply and isolated barrier for industrial process control and instrumentation systems. It powers compatible field transmitters and transfers their analog signals to the control side through two isolated output channels.
Its signal-splitter function allows a single input signal to be supplied to two separate control or monitoring circuits. The module also supports bidirectional transfer of supported digital communication signals, including HART.

Key Features and Benefits
Transmitter Power Supply
Provides power to compatible field transmitters while receiving their analog measurement signals.
Dual Isolated Outputs
Splits one input signal into two isolated output signals for compatible control, monitoring or recording equipment.
SMART Communication Support
Supports HART, BRAIN and Foxboro protocols, helping preserve supported digital communication alongside analog signals.
Current Sink or Source Operation
The output can be configured for sink or source operation according to the control circuit’s wiring requirements.
Integrated Test Points
Terminal test points support signal checking and maintenance using compatible test equipment.
Intrinsic-Safety Interface
The module is designed for use in suitable intrinsic-safety applications. The complete installation must comply with the applicable hazardous-area approvals, wiring rules and system documentation.
Typical Applications
Depending on the system design, this module may be used in:
– Process automation and instrumentation
– Industrial transmitter signal conditioning
– PLC and DCS analog input systems
– Signal distribution to two control or monitoring circuits
– Hazardous-area measurement installations
– HART-compatible maintenance and commissioning systems
Installation and Compatibility Guidance
Before installation, confirm the exact model, 24V DC supply arrangement, terminal connections, output mode and control-system input requirements. Verify the applicable hazardous-area documentation and ensure the complete loop is designed and installed by qualified personnel. Do not assume compatibility with a different KFD2-STC5 model based on appearance alone.
